The Restaurant at Smithfield Station is a laid back seafood establishment with a scenic view of the James River. They have a wide selection of items from the surf and the turf. We wanted to do an all appetizer meal so we choose the boom boom shrimp, crab dip, and Genuine Smithfield Ham rolls. There was not very much boom in the boom boom as the spice level erred on the side of bland. The crab dip was the clear winner of the three app choices. It was very cheesy, but lacked the portion of crab meat I'd hoped for. The pita chips are cut very thick. I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes, but Smithfield Ham is always a winner. The Tuxedo Chocolate Bomb was very decadent to the point of being rich in it's chocolatey prowess. A cup of milk would've really complemented it nicely. The bread pudding was cinnamon forward, I should've gone with the white chocolate creme brulee. The bourbon sauce was delicious and would go great on some candied bacon.

Fabo Valentine's lunch. Everything great. Not crowded. Chad was a great server.

It took a long time for our food to be served. A long time. And they didn't appear to be that busy. My husband and I were disappointed in the crab soup primarily because the chef sprinkled a boat load of Old Bay seasoning on top of it. (Who tops crab soup with Old Bay?) Midway during our meal our servers changed hands. The fried scallops were not that great. We have decided not to eat here again. On a positive note, the servers who waited on us were pleasant. They didn't give us their names though.

We had two meals: dinner and then brunch the next morning and both were excellent! We really enjoyed it.
