Everyone is very friendly. They welcome you in the door and proactively ask if you need help throughout your visit. They have a unique selection of products and I'm always able to find what I need. If an item is out of stock, they'll order it for you and let you know when it arrives. We will be moving out of the area this year and I already know that this store and its employees will be one of the things I miss most.

Came in needing some very specific pipe fittings to hook up a firepit. They had all I needed and more. Made my customer very happy that I was able to get the job done.
I love this place. The prices are a little high, but it is the only hardware store I've ever been to where I can actually find an employee, and that employee is both knowledgeable and actually happy to help you...which I am willing to pay a bit more for. Great store.
This is a high quality small town hardware store with anything and everything you'd expect to find there. Tools, paint, some lumber, yard supplies, great selection of bolts and fasteners. Friendly helpful people everywhere. I never leave without what I came for, and prices are reasonable. Glad they are there when I need them.
When we moved here recently we needed numerous items of plumbing, hardware, lawn care, electrical. I initially started going to Lowes and Home Depot. When I did go into McDaniels, I assumed from the many, proficient staff and great depth of inventory choices that it was one of the big city hardware stores where you pay a lot more and maybe get a bit more. But we have begun going first to McDaniels for all hardware needs, because (1) they consistently have more choices of bolts, plumbing repair parts, electrical repair/fixup, lawn care tools, (2) every few moments a floor person asks if I need help, (3) every single person who has helped me knows exactly where to find what I'm looking for, (4) when I want some item that is extra heavy duty, professional grade, I know they're more likely to have it than the big box stores. Totally different than the big box stores, I know when I walk into McDaniels that within 30 seconds a floor staffer will ask me what I need and help me find it, then help explain how to install it.
