Arrived here summer of 2020 for a fresh optimistic start to my Navy career at my first duty station. As I walked through the urine smelling hallways up to my sauna of a room, these hopes quickly faded. Building managers don't care and the residents are angry about just being there. Top it off with the never ending drag racing & car alarms taking place in the parking structure across the street, you're never going to enjoy a good night's rest. Oh, but at least you get a nice view of the pier...

This was the best barracks ever in 1988 when I was stationed here. Tallest building on base. Great view of the piers. The par 3 course was right next door and the NEX, gas station, and credit union were just outside the gate. Plenty of parking and across the street from the chow hall. What else do you want? As an E-5 I had my own room and shared a bathroom with the room next door.

This building is everything you could ask for. Built in sauna (No A/C), excellent customer service (Do the building managers actually exist or is it another Navy myth?), you'll never be alone (bedbugs and roaches), clean linen that's absolutely maintained to the highest pee stain degree, burning dryer fires, non functional fire fighting system for top safety and protection. I couldn't recommend this beautiful building anymore than the next guy.

It's so bad in this barracks that they should knock it down. Seriously I would rather live on a ship, but I'm on shore duty. My dresser in my room was literally in pieces and when I complained they'd tell me they ordered the parts to fix but nothing got fixed. This where careers and lives go to end.

These reviews need to be for NOW. 2020 is NOT 30 years ago. These barracks are TRASH. There is no AC whatsoever, no ventilation other than to crack the window open and it is still MUGGY HOT in the rooms. Not all the fans work in the room and these barracks are NOT suitable for living. 10/10 would NOT recommend.
