I had my son on the waiting list for almost a year, once he was enrolled he enjoyed his time there and for the most part the staff is nice. But last summer my son fell while outside playing and hit his head. They did not apply ice or even call me. I went to pick him up at the end of the day and his whole forehead had swelled up and I was very concerned. I took him to the emergency room and he had a mild concussion. I understood mistakes and accidents happen and so I let it go and just asked the daycare to contact me if something like this happened in the future. Well yesterday, my son's father was supposed to pick him up from daycare (he is on the authorized list of people to pick up). I have custody of our son and the daycare has court papers stating that. But his father called the daycare without my knowledge and requested that someone NOT on the authorized pick up list be allowed to pick my son up from daycare yesterday. The director, Diane, allowed this. I did not recieve a phone call, my son's father never reached out to me to let me know someone else was to pick up our son, it was not until late last night I was made aware of this. I called the daycare this morning and Diane informed me that she thought it was okay. They put my child's safety at risk and allowed someone I never authorized to go into his daycare and take my child home with them. I'm the one that pays the daycare every week, I'm the one that has the contract with the daycare, I am the custodial parent, and his father only picks him up on occassions. I have removed my child from this daycare and I urge further parents to think of their child's safety when choosing this daycare. This is the second incident gone wrong with them and honestly the daycare sees nothing wrong with what they did. I will be reporting them to the state and an investigation will be opened.
