COSTA RICA Eat the World NYC review: In the tiny community of South Plainfield, you could easily pass by Antojos Ticos without ever noticing there was a business here. Outside and in, the restaurant is nondescript and barely has anything to say until you look at the menu. Certainly there are grilled meats, but it goes further than these and rice and beans to find the skillful Costa Rican dishes that show the the depth of the country's cuisine. After a very nice ceviche, the meal focused on gallo pinto, the star of a few Central American countries. This dish of rice and beans is often served with eggs, cheese, and tortillas as they do here, perfect for breakfast but enjoyed all day long. Also check out gallo de salchichon, a tasty sausage "taco" dressed up with lettuce, ketchup and mayonnaise. Still not enough breakfast? Chorreadas, a sweet corn pancake eaten with sweet crema, should satisfy. We will be going back here whenever we're close.

Small quaint place with great Costa Rican food and big portions. Will definitely be coming back.

This place is authentic and consistent EVERY time. I come here 2-3 times a week and have had almost everything on their menu. The chicken empanadas, pork sandwich, and many other great options to choose from. Always fresh, always excellent. Try this place, you won't be disappointed! Solid small business...

Enjoyed an outstanding Cuban sandwich here today. Nice casual spot. Easy parking. Super friendly. Quality ingredients. Great prices. Salad and ceviche were also delicious. The only thing I would change: next time I will ask for half the salad dressing.

Only been once so far but I will be going back! Chicken Burrito far exceeded my expectations. Pernil Tacos were fantastic. Prices very reasonable.

Fantastic food. I had beef stew and it was some of the best I ever had. The beef was so tender it fell apart. It was moist and seemed like it was marinated and had been cooking for hours. The sauce was light and full of flavor. I'm going to go back and try other dishes.

These reviews really let me down. Everyone was giving the food rave reviews and stating how good the food was so I took a chance & ordered. This food was so bland it might as well had been hospital food as there absolutely no seasonings whatsoever on the food and I could barely tell that I was eating a burrito at all. No authenticity flavor or taste. I noticed the manager from Antojos responded. Me not liking the food has nothing to do with it being costan rican, secondly you would have actually had to apply seasoninga to my food for me to dislike them.
