Do not recommend this venue. They are being cruel and not understanding at all to someone I know who was just diagnosed with breast cancer. This woman at just 26 years old received the worst news of her life, that she has breast cancer and instead of being understanding they said “I get it, I get it, but do you get it?” What I get is that your establishment is clearly only in it for the money and you have zero compassion towards someone who wants to reschedule to another weekend next year and you can’t even do that for her? The poor woman will be undergoing a double mastectomy, chemo, reconstructive surgery and all the while all you can think about is money? I am disgusted She was told she could only reschedule within 12 months of her original date and that it could only be on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday (who wants to get married on those dates) all because they didn’t want to miss out on a new booking next year. They had the audacity to compare her situation to just another postponement because of COVID. HAVE SOME EMPATHY!!!!!! Think twice about dealing with this venue who clearly only cares about money. I am absolutely disgusted and will never recommend your establishment to any future brides.

Beautiful venue, terrible policies. When a 26 year old is diagnosed with breast cancer, scheduled for chemo and radiation, and will not only be weak and bald, but immunocompromised on her wedding date, during a global pandemic, a business should allow her to change her date without repercussions. This lack of empathy is shocking, especially for a venue who’s supposed to provide great care during some of the happiest times in people’s lives. I certainly hope they see this and update their approach to customer service.
Rustic, Elegant, and Woodsy! What a beautiful place to have a wedding... My team of photographers love working here! The food is great and having the whole place to yourself is a must for an intimate wedding. Highly recommend Rock Island Lake Club and cannot wait to work there again next year!
I wonder what it’s like, as a business owner, going to sleep at night knowing how horribly you’ve treated one of your brides who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. As a bride who had to postpone due to Covid (so glad I didn’t choose this place), my situation is COMPLETELY different than that of a young woman with absolutely no choice but to postpone her wedding because she’ll be recovering from chemo and surgery. Shame on this place. Give her a weekend date of her choice or give her a refund.
