Cozy but unique experience with one of the only two philately museums in America. Some beautiful stamps and exhibits. Nice kids play room with stamps.
I had some stamps from my grandfather. I called the museum and was able to get some guidance as to what to do on the phone. Truly kind and knowledgeable staff. I had been to one other appraiser who said he'd review the stamps. I drove an hour and a half to see him, and he didn't even bother to open the books completely, he just saw a few, then disregarded the whole collection. My day was wasted as I had to drive through Boston traffic to get to him. If you're looking for a kind and honest review with lots of cool facts and details in the history of the stamps, this is the place to call or go to. I'm definitely planning a visit to the museum now, just to check it out after this great experience and meet the staff. I'm happy to say, even though my collection maybe not be of much value, they are very gorgeous stamps, and will make a beautiful piece of art for my apartment that I'll always remember my grandfather by. I think I just might have caught the stamp collecting bug!
Fantastic place and experience! We give our sincere gratitude to the very kind and helpful staff, especially to Eric for his wonderful introduction and guidance!!
Overpriced! Dusty old stamps not displayed in a interesting manner. Charge 8 for what then make kids pay for old stamps that should be free. First they say 2 cents a stamp then they say 10. First they say kids membership is free then its 10. Do not waste your time or money. Avoid and surly student at front desk is not helping any.
