I was looking for some new indoor house plants and a friend told me that Northwest Seed & Pet had a tropical room where they housed all of their plants! The selection was amazing! They had indoor house plants of all sizes from succulents to plants in bloom! When you buy a plant and a pot together they will pot it up for you and supply premium soil for free! The pottery selection is huge! I had to take several photos to share with my daughter!

Love love this place! Have since I was a kid! We had our own pet store at our home when I was growing up so my parents were always here! Love seeing ruby! So beautiful and on her good days she will talk! The alligator was a huge staple in my childhood. I don’t think there is a single person who grew up in Spokane or just lived here that didn’t know about the alligator!! He was so cool! And the tortoise is just as awesome. The fish area is super neat too! Just bringing to kids here is so fun for them! I usually get our summer seeds here for our garden as well! So here is some of the sunflowers I purchased from seeds this summer!

Excellent selection of pots and indoor plants in the winter. Well stocked with gardening supplies during warmer months too. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

My wife was asked to leave the store despite explaining that she has a legitimate medical disability which precludes her from wearing a mask per Gov Inslee’s mandate. The owner of the company stated that my wife could wear it loosely or just over her mouth, just so long as she “appears” to be following the rules. How does not even following the actual mask rules solve anything? He also said he assumes when people say they have a medical condition they are lying. I am sure some people do that, but to discriminate against all people with disabilities and assume they are lying is pretty despicable. The owner said my wife could shop online, but admitted his online store does not carry most of what he has in-store. I explained we come here to support our local businesses instead of the big box stores, but this has made the decision pretty simple for us. If you have a medical condition, both the owner and manager is happy to go even further than the law to make sure you don’t feel welcome to shop in their store. Perhaps my wife will be allowed to shop there in the future if she sews a yellow star to her coat.
