A little busy- as far as walking trails go- from time to time. A great place to bike, though.

Beautiful place to visit in the fall. Lots of walking trails with historical markers. We could spend the whole day hiking and still not cover all the trails. Well maintained.

Great place to do some road biking, hike a trail, or just drive through to see the historical site. I have been here a few times now and it is usually quiet and the hiking is really nice. The NPS keeps the trails clean and marked well. Very nice place to come on a weekend afternoon.

This is another of the battlefields excellently managed by the National Park Service. It is a very rewarding place to visit. If you visit the visitor center at Chancellorsville first, then you have the opportunity to talk to the friendly and knowledgeable people who run the place, and to pick up information about Spotsylvania as well as Chancellorsville. Then set out on your tour. The Muleshoe Salient is the most important of the places to visit. Bring knowledge (whether old or recently gained) and imagination and you will be richly rewarded.

Lovely piece of well-preserved Civil War history. I love to come here to walk or run. There are several different trails around the park, and tidbits about the war in that area and the houses that were there before the war. At the entrance there's a place to sit and read about the battles that took place in the area and bathrooms, which are open from 8am-5pm I believe. Overall, nice place if you want to learn more about the Civil War or to just go for a long walk. Also, I loved to come in the mornings during September. Great month for foggy sunrise pictures.
