Amtrak waiting room is decripit compared to the bus terminal downstairs. The men's bathroom was closed! I recommend waiting downstairs near the Subway, Dunkin, and bathroom, then just go upstairs when your train time has almost come.

The Amtrak ticket office for the Union station Springfield is at best a work in progress. Located on the upper level of the building the ticket office is the same as it has been for over a decade since the original main building closed. It's simply a warm place to sit and get tickets. There appears to be a new desk built in the lower level, but is yet to open. The staff seems nice. However access to the rails is via track 8 leaving one to wonder how one gets to other rails for other trains. CT rail is also accessed from this office.

Amtrak sitting area is a little bit dated, but always warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The main station is gorgeous and has plenty of places to eat

Always a great pit stop waiting for your train. The staff here goes out of the way, helping with your luggage or assistance to get on the train for handicapped people like myself.

The Ticket office also acts as a waiting room. The area was quite congested and you couldn't tell who was waiting on line to purchase tickets. They need to create a better flow for the ticket counter.

The last time I was here at the Springfield station it was a little outdated and in need of some general upkeep and repair. it's evident this was a much busier station in the day the outdoor waiting area when you go for the train in some areas does not have an overhead cover although there used to be one at one time
