Tahir bhai knew we were celebrating a birthday and he opened his party hall for us, just three of us , which is beautiful. This was the first time I saw their party hall which is bright with amazing wallpaper a stage giving the “window look” and socially distanced tables. We appreciated his gesture but insisted that we sit in the main hall as there was just another party of 5 sitting on the other side of the restaurant. It was also great to see every table had its own set of Hand Sanitizer. There’s also new set of “Karachi Wallpaper” which definitely brought smiles on my face. We got the Thursday special Nalli Biryani, Chicken Shinwari Karhai, Bihari Boti and to top it off, Tahir bhai went out of his way and got us his latest hit item Dhagay walay Kabab, which is not on the menu except for on Friday and Saturday, with Parathas (Puris parathas ). As expected everything was fabulous and delicious. The service at Bethak is usually good, but yesterday was top notch. Tahir bhai and his staff made us feel at home and went out of their way to ensure we are comfortable and were enjoying our celebration, checking on us at all times. To top everything off, once we were done dining, Tahir bhai surprised us with a birthday song (“baar baar din ye aye”. My all time fav bday song Bec I m old ) over the restaurant speakers, and Got is Gajjar ka Halwa, with 3 fresh Gulab Jamum decorated with Rabri on top and a birthday candle on top of the middle gulab jamun. He also got us Rabri which was amazing. I don’t have words to express my gratitude for Baba Tahir and the staff of Desi Bethak for making my birthday so special.

The food is very tasty and enjoyable. I've done take out 3 times and dine in once. My door dash delivery order wasn't as good as my other experiences. The Biryani in particular wasn't as tasty or fresh. We had a good experience with dining in. We made reservations for our large family and they were very accommodating. The food was delivered to the table hot and on time. The chicken Karahi variety is amazing and the Chicken Biryani is excellent. The family kabob platter is very tasty also. The only issue I has was with the beef burgers we ordered. I said to put only ketchup and cheese but it came with tomatoes, onions, and lettuce as well. I just removed it. We ordered 2 chicken burgers as well and they came as beef. Otherwise the burgers were cooked well and tasty. Overall we plan to go there again.
That was my first time and I'm born in Karachi so I've ate at best spots back home and without doubt I do say this food remind me back in Karachi. Shinwari karahi was amazing and was just perfect. Karachi biryani also thumbs up.
Amazing food. Excellent eating experience. The best food I ever had. Very authentic DESI food and will not find this menu anywhere. Don’t miss it !!! Baba Tahir is the best chef. More than a hour drive is worth.
Thank you to provide Karachi style food. We tried Magaz Nihari and Chicken boti roll.. Delicious food in Maryland. Nihari is very closed to Idrees Nihari at Aslam Road. Pan is like Sardina Pan Shop Golden Gate Nazimabad. Must try, great environment, good service and friendly peoples.
