Took my 4 year old and 2 year old to the Discovery Center. Staff went above and beyond volunteering their tiny to describing the science behind the many exhibits and artifacts in a way that my toddlers could understand. Here you can have fun with energy and electricity, including a Tesla coil, light and lasers, and of course, insects. Whether you live in the region or are visiting, plan a few hours here: you won't regret it.

My family loves Discovery Center-type places, but we have lived in the area for almost 5 years and had never been to the one in Springfield until I brought my almost-4-year-old daughter to Seuss Science Day this past weekend. We LOVED it! The staff members were all so nice, my daughter had a blast, and I was able to secure a discounted membership due to the Seuss Science Day promotion so my whole family can come and enjoy next time. We loved the variety of activities of varying appropriateness for all ages. We will be back, and I can't wait! My only regret is that it can't be today for the Critters Day thing. We/I love bugs, lol!

Other than the untactful girl at the reception desk, we had a pretty enjoyable visit. We have a daughter with autism who cannot wear a standard facemask. Aside from tactile and anxiety issues, she was born prematurely and the cartilage in her ears never fully solidified. So a mask doesnt stay on her face. So we bought her a face shield. But this was unacceptable at your establishment and, instead of hearing from my concerns, the girl simply kept reiterating that a shield is not a viable mask. There was no compassion and we were forced to comply my daughter didn't want to leave, so she put up po with a mask, though it kept her aggravated the whole time. Probably won't be back til after covid restrictions are lifted. Have told everyone in my autism community to heed this when they visit.

Absolutely loved this place. My kids did as well. It's a little dated and almost looks as tho it's guna go out of business but I really hope that it doesn't. Because there building and everything in it is just awesome.

Love the Discovery Center! We've been regular visitors for years. They're really good about adding fresh displays, so while we have our favorites, there's always something new. The staff is so friendly. They make themselves available to show you displays that require assistance and really seem to take pleasure in teaching your kids about the science behind the experiments. Today we attended their first ever Easter egg hunt, and it was a blast! I really hope they continue this event for years to come and can't wait to see what they come up with next!
