The beach and the river areas were great.. The fort itself wasn't much to see. You take a ferry to cross the river to get to the fort. But you could also see it at a distance from the west side of the parking lots. Both sides have nice cosy beaches that aren't usually very crowded. River side has a lot of drift wood trees that give you good shade.

A wonderful park we've enjoyed visiting for many years. The park is divided into two parts, divided by the river and a short ferry ride between the two shores. Unfortunately, the area is low-lyinv and susceptible to hurricanes and as a result the Fort side of the park has been closed for some time. But, once re-opened, it is well worth the visit. Covid update - as a note, the park has remained closed during the pandemic, though hopefully will reopen mid-2021.

Didn't go to the monument, but the beach was nice. Secluded with plenty of space. We went on a warm weekday in February, so it may not be the busiest time of year. There is a solid wooden boardwalk, a few hundred feet, accessible with a ramp.

Good for fishing and swimming. Has parking areas, and nearby (5m drive) gas stations. Clean & Clear water.

Beautiful natural area! Had a pleasant experience riding the boat to the old fort lookout. It's where the Spanish guarded the inlet entrance against enemies that try to sneak up to St. Augustine without being confronted by the large fort up there.
