The Best of India got me through my pregnancy. I seriously got the beget 1-4 times a week for 20 weeks. What I love is that the guys there change up the buffet daily so if you go back to back days you won't see the same exact items. My coworkers and students thought something was wrong with me if didn't have the buffet to go at least once a week. I highly recommend this buffet. The price continues to rise yearly and is 14 on weekends, but if you do the to go buffet right it can last 3 meals (at least it does for me post baby now that I eat like a normal human again).
Fresh, authentic food! We ordered the platter, garlic naan, and lamb curry. It was good, but not amazing. In the future, I’d be curious to try something else from their menu. Employees were very nice and efficient despite it appearing very busy. While I waited for my online order to be ready (about 15 minutes past expected pickup time) their phone was ringing off the hook. Staff remained super friendly and apologetic. I could tell they were trying their best to meet all the demands and deliver respectable customer service.
On October 16th I placed a pick up order with Best of India. Within 10 minutes of ordering I was called by Best of India and told the wait time was longer then what was indicated because my order was “so small”. 33.75 of food. I said to forget it I was in a time crunch and I would like to cancel the order. He said “you have to cancel the order with Grub Hub.” I told him I have no way of the canceling the order and to never mind I was already charged, transaction pending, and I don’t want to be out 33.75 so I will do the new pick up time that they informed me of though not indicated when I ordered. He said, “no I’ll cancel the order on this end. You won’t be charged.” Well I was charged and the order not canceled. Now I’m having to chase my money to get a refund back from Grub Hub. (Grub Hub’s customer service has been a breath of fresh air compared to what I received from the restaurant) So disappointed in this restaurant as this is the second time I’ve had a problem ordering on line through Grub Hub with them. Their method of online ordering mind you through their website. The first time my order was never received causing me to wait at the restaurant for 45 minutes as they never “received my online order” though I had email confirmation the order was accepted and a pick up time given. The online ordering system needs to be better or go back to orders by phone only. I would gather that their have been multiple issues with this restaurant and complaints as I can’t believe I am the only one. It’s really too bad as I was a weekly customer for the lunch buffet prior to this.
In a world with COVID-19, Best of India is taking all the correct steps. Employees wear masks, credit machines are wiped down, and employees are separate from customers to keep everyone safe. As someone who needs to be careful, I felt very safe getting my food from there. And speaking of food, it was great! We especially liked the okra and goat curry. But as other people mention, beware of asking for food very spicy as it will pack a punch. We will definitely be back.
