Fantastic zoo. I can't believe it's free to visit! It's been rated the best zoo in the country by USA Today. During the pandemic, you have to reserve a free ticket online for timed entry, but the process is pretty seamless.

One of the best Zoo I’ve ever been! Looks like animals are being taking care of, very clean and they look good. It’s totally for free! We only paid the train ride and I will recommend it if you wanna see the whole place! It’s huge! Staff is super friendly and nice! 100% recommended if you are in St Louis!
The Zoo was awesome. It seemed like we'd walk through it quickly, but it is very dense and very well laid out. It took us about 4 hours to walk through the whole thing (we skipped a ton, unfortunately) and all the animals seemed very happy. Highly recommend
The St Louis zoo is truly one of the treasures of St. Louis! It is a world-class zoological facility and it is FREE to enter! I feel that there are good variety of animals available to see there, and I like how the exhibits are set up. The Rivers Edge is especially awesome but the seal and sea lion exhibit in the bear habitats are also awesome. The zoo also has an amazing antique carousel and the zoo line railroad which is a favorite of every kid who rides the rails. A St. Louis must do activity for sure!
The St. Louis Zoo is amazing. It's free to see and you can park along the streets and walk a little, for free or pay 10 for parking which gets you right in front of the doors. They have a nice variety of habitats and animals. I was so excited when they brought in the polar bear years ago. The zoo is clean, and have little gift shops when you exit every exhibit. Tons of food and drink carts spread out around the zoo. As well as dining options. (Most of these are closed due to the pandemic, and usually have maps but they were gone too). Still enjoy every single time I come. We bought the reusable cups, which you can bring back to your visits and pay just the refill charge. You can also spend 10 or 15 for an arm band that gets you on the train, and merry-go-round, and some simulators. The animals are so cute and they have plenty of space. I'd always recommend this zoo.
