I took my dog there after a week of her not feeling well. They stated she (a 15 pound dog) needed a pyometra surgery. They quoted us 4000-6000. A quick Google search confirmed it is usually 1000-2000. After 20 minutes of phone calls we found a place nearby that did the surgery for 1000. I am very unhappy with their prices. Imagine if someone didn't have the money and didn't find a cheaper price and their pet died because it was so expensive..

When our dog Conan was severely injured and no other vet seemed equipped to properly help him, the U and their staff was a godsend! They went above and beyond with his care and were so sensitive to what we were going through as well! I cannot say enough about how caring every single person who I spoke with was through the entire process!! We are forever grateful to Dr.Veytsman and his entire team for helping our boy get healthy when every other vet made us feel hopeless!

It took me a long time to work up the courage to write this review. I had to let myself heal from the experience. I took our 14 year old cat here about 9 months ago. She was transferred there from an emergency vet because she could barely walk. She was very skinny at the time but we didn't realize it because she was fluffy, naturally small to begin with, was eating, and we had taken her to the vet several times throughout the year and was told her vitals were normal. The vet at this clinic assumed the absolute worst of me, thought that I was starving my cat to death. I was forced to put her down right there at that moment because I couldn't afford the several thousand it would cost to hospitalize her. They essentially held my cat hostage because they thought I was abusing her. I understand their reasons. They didn't know us and they didn't know the whole story. But I think it's common sense that if you are willing to spend money to take your cat to the vet you obviously want what's best for them. I don't appreciate having been treated like a criminal by this establishment for trying to do right by my furry friend. I still cry about it sometimes because I miss her and I don't understand what went wrong or what was wrong with her. I will never, ever take another pet to this establishment. Not because I don't think they provide cutting-edge care to the pets, but because I can't handle another traumatic experience like the one I endured at this clinic. I love my pets dearly, but I don't think they would want me to go through that just to spare them an extra year or two of low-quality life.

I was going through some very hard times after divorce which I got nothing out of and he was very wealthy I lost everything but I kept my dog and this place. Back on my feet again but I will never forget them they saved my dog and gave her three more years of life which is what they promised and she got three and a half. I want to thank the people that donated the money it went right to them I said don't send it to me you send it to the medical center and they were good with that and things to the kindness of a few friends and strangers who knew my story my dog got to live longer with me. The place is so clean I'd like to go there and stay myself if something went wrong! Very professional. Right up there with UC Davis which I had taken another dog to a few years ago and I was back in that area. I trust this medical center very much.

My local vet in Rochester recommended UMN VMC when he diagnosed my dog with cancer. I found the staff and service at VMC to be extremely thorough and caring. My dog responded well to the treatment and was able to enjoy many additional months of her life, which was very important to me.
