10 years here and SBL is still the best place for kids to learn and grow with baseball or softball in the Whole of Virginia. They have multiple programs designed to engage kids in learning fundamentals and having fun, clinics for skill building, and the most amazing facilities in the are thanks to their partnership with Stafford county P and R. There have been parents and coaches through the years that have given me pause, but the leaders have stayed steady in the desire to see this sport grow and develop amazing new talent at every level of the game. We love it.

Try a different league. This is the most expensive rec league in the area. I was so mad when I realized how little of the rec registrations go to the single A players. I refuse to finance the taxi squads. Also, it seems that you need to be in the \In Crowd\ in order for your player to get to play in AA let alone even have a shot at the taxi squads. I can't even begin with the ridiculous Umpires that are sent to the single A games. Nice kids, but for over a 100 a season I would have expected a little more for my son

This league is a joke! The only good thing is my son got an amazing coach he deserves 10 stars--John Bertotti! If my son had any other coach I would have pulled him instantly after watching how they teach sportsmanship. The worst both Red teams! There are no reason for boys to act they way do, but the coach and parents teach them which is awful! When those boys reach high school and their coaches will ask where did you learn that and do you want them to say Stafford Little League? HUGE EXAMPLE: Boys are taught to distract the pitcher by yelling or clapping, do you see that in the Minor, Majors, High School or even other correctly coached Little League teams....NOPE you will not! Huge disrespect and not ethical. OR as I was watching a game my son wasn't even in I saw the coach from the opposite team (Red team again) distracts the other boy by asking him about Xbox or whatever topic to help him loose focus and get out....these kids are 11 and 12, way to go Coach you are officially the worst Coach in Little League history. And if your boy hits, slaps, or pounds that fence in the dugout make him stop, its destructive to the cages and expensive to fix. And 170 what a waste of money for a t-shirt not even a real jersey, cap and socks. Do not waste your money on this league! The bad sportsmanship and cheating is so destructive to those boys, karma will get those coaches and I pray they change their coaching habits. I have coached and managed A and AA for the past 6 years in another state and this league will only limit your boys and teach bad habits, unless of course you are blessed with Coach John! I have never witnessed such deceit in just one league. I understand these are all volunteers and that's great we have parents who step up and help, but do NOT teach these boys bad sportsmanship, it will not help them grow. Losing with dignity is a far better lesson and teaching them how to play the best sport in history is far better reward than winning a game.

Stafford Baseball League is totally supported by VOLUNTEERS. I suggest any parent unhappy with the operations or results of this league-to step up and volunteer. This league has over 1200 players and it's quite a challenge to get the required number of volunteers. The person who just posted a review regarding her liking of John and how the RED team cheated is a review totally false. I was there watching that game. Nothing inappropriate took place. Sure there was talking and yelling from all players. That's allowed. But once a pitcher is in their wind up-players are not allowed to distract the pitcher where it may result in bad pitches. The RED team won the game although it was a close game. I've known JOHN B for years as well as the other RED Coaches. For you to say it was a cheating game and deceitful is plain wrong. The RED team has some of the finest Coaches in SBL. They furnish their players gear, uniforms, helmets, etc...they furnish their players more equipment and clothing than any other Coach in the league. one is a Secret Service Agent-a job that requires the most in depth background than any other profession in the world. Your rating one one star is totally wrong and your statements are false. i suggest you volunteer and step up to the plate. These people are VOLUNTEERS so while you're at home or doing personal things-these volunteers are humping equipment to the fields with no help, raking the fields and getting them ready to play. They are the first to arrive and the last to leave. They spend their own money on supplies and often at the end of the season don't even receive a thank you. I wonder if you had won-would you have written such junk??

Great facilities, organization and overall experience has been below average.
