Wow. Showed up on time and as listed for fingerprints for a federal clearance. I was told that the Troopers were busy with July 4th Holidays and all, so they just were not doing fingerprints this week. I was livid; it is this kind of attitude that makes all of us dislike public servants - when the public servant does not feel any drive to serve the public. I work at a U.S. Embassy overseas. Tell me what you think Virginia State Trooper “Joe” would think if he came to my Embassy during appointed hours and said: “My wife lost her passport, and my flight leaves in 48 hours. Id like to get her a new passport so we can fly home.” If my colleague at the Embassy responded with: “ya know, it’s like Summer, and 4th of July holiday, so we’re not doing passports this week, but you can call Washington”. I sense a Trooper Joe would not be satisfied with that response, nor should he be. This office should be embarrassed and ashamed for impinging on the name of public servants.
