The military theme and the colorful paraphernalia makes for great atmosphere and interesting interior. There is a Mission BBQ army truck parked outside that makes a good background for a group photo. I tried the baby back ribs and the brisket. The ribs are nice but the brisket although was well seasoned with herbs and spices but were rather dry. Collard greens were quite good as well as the fries. It is an excellent place for a fun a get together. The food could be better though. However they have a selection of 6 BBQ sauces on the table that make the meat more flavorful.
Excellent food and great service! The portion sizes are a great value for your money. I find myself returning at least once a week. My recommendation . . . the Brisket (moist) XXL Combo; you'll be returning too.
The rub is very salty. Everyone I bring here comments on how salty the meat is, but it seems to be of high quality. I don't come here very often. The staff and managers are really good. They do a great job of greeting you and making you feel welcome.
Black plate special. NY strip slightly smoked and finished on flat iron grill. Really good value like most everything on the menu. Good quality and smoked just enough. Buns aren't my favorite, they're dry and bland and don't go well with BBQ in my opinion so I skip sandwiches now. Service is great.
