My daughter and I have participated in about 4 classes and I'm very pleased so far. The instructors are very patient, polite and welcoming. There is a good emphasis on fundamentals for beginners, but they also recognize if you have already learned a particular skill. At other self-defense/martial arts schools there is alot of ego and machismo, but I've seen none of that here. The kids classes are safe and fun and well suited for children between ages 7 and 12. I highly recommend this school.

New to Aikido, having wanted to train for years, upon moving to the northern Virginia area I visited the dojo during my 1st week and began classes. All the teachers are patient and reinforce the importance toward perfecting the fundamentals as the foundation to the proficient execution of the art. Awesome! Place. Awesome! Instruction Far beyond my expectations. This Martial Arts studio is truly a genuine place to practice the art of Aikido. The instructors are sincere in their teachings and they truly like to teach. You will feel at home and comfortable in learning with them. My wife and I have attended this place and with great pleasure we’ll be calling it our dojo. We have attended several other schools before making our decision. I myself have many, many years of Martial Arts experience (32 years to be exact). Not to boast myself but I’ve done many different disciplines in the past, including; Shotokan Karate, Judo, Tai Kickboxing, Hapkido & TaeKwonDo (with a 5th Dan in TKD). My wife in the other hand is truly a beginner and yet they took the time with her and patiently explained the moves (we attended several classes with different instructors ).With this being said; I can tell you that this studio is a legit dojo where the egos stay OFF the tatami (the mat).If you have any doubts, they encourage you to try a few classes before even committing. No Pressure. What more is there to say? Come on over and try it! On the other note; If you have taken some classes with them and haven’t left them a review, I encourage you to leave them one. Took my very 1st martial arts class at this dojo 5 years ago at the age of 45. Five years later, still practicing at the dojo. The members are very friendly, and very supportive. Our sensei are very knowledgeable of Aikido principles.
