I have been going to their Alexandria location for 7 years and love it. I have been to this location as well about a dozen times. This review was written for Alexandria but applies here as well except for a reference to extremely tall walls, which I removed here. I see Molly (and occasionally others) for private instruction. I have now been to over 10 climbing gyms across the country and I think I am spoiled by my experience here. They are fairly priced, flexible, safe (physical safety and COVID), and nice. They are also awesome about being inclusive to those with injuries, medical conditions (including me), etc. and even donate time and resources to allow them to climb with confidence.
As total beginners, we had a great time. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good COVID precautions, that they actually enforce.
I'd love to give it 5 stars but that fitness area needs significant attention/updating.
The staff's customer service here was top notch and I can't believe how kind they were to someone from out of town who was just visiting the gym one time only! They were super helpful and accommodating, I would say how nice they were stood out the most at the gym. It's a medium sized gym, not a huge one, but there is plenty of room as long as it isn't busy. I love the little buddy system bracelets so if you are alone you can make a new friend, there are little bracelets at the front desk that let others know you are open to finding a climbing buddy! The gym has a couple of auto-belays, lots of bouldering and regular belays. I would say it's geared towards a lot of intermediate and expert climbs (or maybe I'm just from FL and we are used to everything being flat...).
