This is office offers great service, everyone i have talked to over the last year is very friendly and knowledgeable. Just got great help over the phone today. Also they are NOT open for any appointments in the office. Everything is being done on phone or on internet due to Covid.

I wasn't impressed with this building. What I was most uncomfortable with was that the man behind the desk never looked at my passport to verify that it was actually me. That, and he asked me to say my social number out loud... of all the places, you would think they would have some type of number pad at the desk so you can punch in your numbers discreetly.

Filled out form W-4V to have some federal tax withheld from my SS check. Instructions on the form, which is a Dept. of Treasury Internal Revenue Service form and was revised in Feb. 2018, clearly state, and this is verbatim, ‘For withholding on social security benefits give or send the completed Form W-4V to your local Social Security Administration office.’ As I believe common sense dictates ‘send’ means mail it in. And if I mailed the form in no one would see me in person. Now my problem with the local SS agency or maybe the Social Security Admin in general. Since I was next door to the SS office on other business I thought I might as well ‘give’ it to my local SS office. Seemed simple enough; walk in, drop it off to a live person or into a box and go. How wrong I was. Security guard, who was pleasant enough, informs me, and this is paraphrasing but close to an actual quote “you used to be able to put it in the drop box, but the new management team changed the rules and now you have to take a number” i.e take a number and sit and wait so you can hand a form to somebody, a form that the instruction form indicates can be dropped off or mailed in. So I left and mailed it in. I failed to ask the security guard whether it was new local management or national management that changed the rules. I wish I had gotten that clarification. But regardless of which it was the stupidity of taking a simple process and turning it into sit and wait endlessly says a great deal about SS management whether local or national.

I was put off by other reviews but bucked up because I needed a new social security card. So glad I went in on a Tuesday around noon-- I was the only one in line! Even the security guard was kind and helpful and the man who helped me at the window did so with speed. My social security card came in a week later! Thank you again

I went in for a replacement card. I was in and out in under 10 minutes. Security guard was friendly and helpful. The clerk was pleasant and efficient.
