This place is Absolutely family-friendly. Staff is really helpful for new visitors. For those planning on visiting the LBJ historic sites, come here first to receive a permit to visit the national site and some information. We loved the trails, the animals, the historic sites, and more. Will come back again soon!

A great one-day outing destination. For us, the most attractive part of this park is the Living History Farm. In this interactive historical farm you will get to experience how life was at this farm in 1919. During holidays and weekends farm workers dressed in period costumes lead interactive activities for kids of all ages. LBJ Historic National Park, the former residence of President Lyndon Johnson is located a short drive across the river. Entrance to both parks is free. There is a small charge for a guided tour of the LBJ residence.

This was fun if you enjoy history. Fun for kids because they can win badges as Junior Park Rangers. You can see the boyhood home of LBJ as well as his ranch and cars and the history of how long his family lived there. You can see different memorabilia from the era of the early 60s. His grave and his family and wife are buried there. You cannot get into the museum right now with covid but still a fun trip.

Wonderful experience. We enjoyed speaking with one of the park rangers, who gave us a thorough overview of what to see in the park. The educational displays are well-curated and absolutely worth the read, especially in 2020. In fact, they were our favorite part. The trails are very walkable for all ages and there really is something for everyone here. This is a real gem and taught us so much about LBJ. He really achieved a tremendous amount during his presidency, and all Texans can be proud of his legacy.
