Flying B Bar has the best steaks I've ever had. Their ranching and grazing practices distinguish them from the rest of the grass fed/finished producers and result in some really beautiful beef. I cooked up one of their ribeyes yesterday and it was truly phenomenal. There was just so much going on in that steak. The fat was a beautiful rich yellow (because of the beta carotene content in the cow's vitamin rich grass diet vs standard white fat from grain finished) and the flavor was complex and nutty but still had a nice sweetness. It was just as tender as any grain finished beef I’ve had. Every bite was a treat. I let it sit uncovered in the fridge for a couple of days to dry out the exterior and got a crazy good sear on the cast iron. Butter basted it with some herbs and garlic to finish. I could eat one of those every day for the rest of my life.
The meat is beyond fabulous. Ordering and pickup is easy, just explore the website first. Place the order online and note you want to pickup. Then set an appointment time to pickup. If your order is more than 150, shipping is free. This ranch practices regenerative agriculture and treats their cattle very well. The result is delicious, healthy beef. Locally owned and operated by a terrific family.
If you want top notch grassfed beef, then look no further. We tried Flying B Bar ranch for the first time this year and bought a half cow. We have bought Bison sides before, but this was our first cow. The flavor of their beef is fantastic, and the quality is excellent. Margaret and Brad seem to care deeply about their animals and product, and their customer service was top notch when coordinating pick up and catering to our requests for special cuts. We love Flying B Bar beef!
I bought an eighth this spring and couldn't be more pleased (I live in Colorado and picked it up at the ranch). The meat is the best tasting I have ever had. The burger is to die for, the steaks are delicious and the roasts are phenomenal. I just ordered a boatload more!
