Went for the bimonthly Village Board meeting. I know all the Trustees and the Mayor. Had some questions; which were answered. I also talked with the Fire Chief; who because of Covid I haven't seen since March. It's important that residents know what's going on in their community.

I am a renter and had a building inspection for my landlord's property a few days ago. The inspector came out to see if the microwave was venting to the outside properly. When the inspector went to close my sliding glass door, he broke off the door's handle. To be fair, the door is hard to close, and he did apologize. However, he blamed it on the door tracks being dirty or the bearings that may need to be greased and did not offer any sort of reprieve to fix the issue. I am unimpressed that the inspector didn't offer to remedy the matter and seemed unaffected that he inconvenienced the property owner and me because now the handle needs replaced. I emailed the village and received no response. Overall, they could care less about customer service and should train their employees to respect others’ property.
