We suffered a massive lightening strike while near George Town, Exuma, Bahamas. We lost everything on Bacchus that had anything to do with electrical. All electronics including radios and autopilot, fridge, 2 a/c units, both alternators/regulators, etc. etc. Like I said, a massive strike. Additionally all rigging was replaced along with all wires inside the mast. This was quite the big project. It was a slow, lengthy process with the insurance company in the middle but Colin was good to us and really worked with us. I do have to say the insurance company has been good as Gold as well, just they are in the UK and it is a bit of a back and forth process. They know what they are doing, the work efficiently with little to no down time. In fact any \dead\ time was waiting on a vendor to supply the needed part, i.e. Outback Inverter/Charger. Ordered soon enough but it is big, heavy rascal and it took a few days to arrive. If you ever have a similar situation, and I hope you don't, please consider them as one of your repair facilities and let them give you an estimate! The estimate is free and I think you will be happy with their professionalism and knowledge. They are lightening strike experts!
