The Longfellow's Wayside Inn menu reflects many timeless classics and the Grist Mill on the property is still used to make the provisions like corn meal and flour, and some of their additional products are sold in their gift shop on site! The Wayside Inn With over 200 years of history, Longfellow’s Wayside Inn is the oldest operating inn on one of the oldest commissioned roads in the United States. The restaurants name comes from the fact that Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, was inspired when he stayed here to write Tales of a Wayside Inn. In a later post we will focus on the grounds and novelties, for now we will focus on the food. While most of their menu focuses on old school New England Classics, they also offer items like Butternut Squash Ravioli in sage brown butter sauce to cater to all. The warm bread basket made with their own milled products is a nice touch. We were offered a hot spiked cider, which we were temped but decided to wait for next time. The beauty of this place is there is so much history, justifying a return trip is easy. Especially if you have friends who love a taste of history.

Another Google Maps amazing find. The food and service were impeccable. Our server Matt was very friendly and accommodating. Our starters were chicken satay with peanut sauce, creamy cheese stuffed mushrooms, and vegetarian egg roles. All were just amazing. Main courses were Vegan Risotto Cakes for my wife and I had the Complete Sunday Dinner of “Our House Garden Salad” and Roast Leg of Lamb. I took Matt’s suggestion for the warm brownie and chocolate ice cream for my desert which was worth the slight 3.00 up charge. We also had two Apple/Cranberry Sangrias which were tasty and fresh. Plus, bring your camera and spend the afternoon as there are places near by to hike and capture amazing photos. We can HIGHLY recommend Longfellow’s Wayside Inn for your next dining experience.

We held a micro-wedding at the Wayside Inn and could not have been happier. Mark was our point of contact – he was patient, kind, and understanding – not to mention a complete pleasure to work with. We fully enjoyed our micro-wedding and could not have picked a better location and nicer people to work with. The Wayside Inn is gorgeous!! and has many photo opportunities such as the Chapel, Inn, Pond, Garden, Grist Mill, and more. We also loved the fact that it’s the oldest running Inn in America! It’s a very historic spot which we loved. The Chapel was built by Henry Ford for example – how cool is that?? The staff are also very nice and accommodating. I met many of the restaurant staff, front desk staff, gift shop staff, and Steve the Inn Keeper – they were all very nice and made us feel at home. Planning/re-planning a wedding during COVID was very stressful to say the least. The Wayside Inn helped relieve some of these anxious feelings and helped us have a beautiful wedding day – a day we will remember forever. My sister and I stayed at the Inn the night before and had a comfortable stay in the Inn. Apparently the room we stayed in is said to be “haunted” by a woman who used to live there. My sister and I had no “haunting” experiences and thoroughly enjoyed the room - it is a larger room so is great for getting ready, etc. The food/drinks were also delicious – I had the salmon for dinner and the raviolis for lunch – very tasty. We highly recommend the Wayside Inn!! Whether you stop by for lunch, go there to take a walk, have a wedding or other celebration…it’s highly recommended by us. Thank you Mark, Wayside Inn, and all the staff!!

We enjoy hanging out. Yesterday we visited this delicious restaurant which we didn’t know before. We had a lovely experience there with exceptional meal and a courteous stuff and a talented cuisine. We added this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will no doubt come back very soon. We warmly recommend.

I love the Wayside Inn. I recently stayed there for one night and I experienced the warmth and charm that exudes from that place. On the property, there is a fairytale-like grist mill, two ponds, hiking trails, an old church, a beautiful garden, outside dining space, and a one room school house. There's also an ice house and a big field, perfect for playing and picnicking. My girlfriend and I woke up early and went on a walk around the property. The mill was so beautiful and quiet. In the inn, there is so much beauty and history. We stayed in room nine, which is totally haunted, as it is one of the original rooms from the 1700s. Everything in our room was clean and so quaint and old. The dark wood throughout the inn will make you feel transported to colonial times. The hospitality of the employees is unreal. They are so nice. We had a slight issue with our meal (fatty prime rib) and they refunded us. But don't worry, the food is great. Will be back very soon!

My girlfriend and I decided to stop for dinner last night that the Wayside Inn Restaurant. We had an amazing time! The old timey ambiance mixed with the top notch service by our waitress Katie, really made for a great date night dinner. We both had the Prime Rib which was one of the best ones I have had yet! The drinks were excellent with her getting the Prosecco and I, the Manhattan. All around a great time!

My wife and I got married at Longfellow's Wayside Inn in 2016. At our wedding we meet a very special waitress and her name is Marina. She made the food and drink aspect of our wedding so much easier and less stressful. Years later we returned for our anniversary reservations and were so excited when we were seated and found out our waitress was Marina! She is the absolute greatest. So nice, caring, kind hearted, and welcoming. She is always amazing. The food was fantastic and the Inn and the Inn ground's are absolutely amazing. The Wayside truly is an amazing place with amazing people just like Marina. We love the Inn and Marina! Would highly recommend everyone make a reservation and enjoy the service, food, and beautiful sites. Thank you Wayside Inn and Marina as always! Stay safe : )
