Incredible collection of steam locomotives and rolling stock! Guided tours narrated by knowledgeable enthusiastic staff. If you're interested in the steam era, this is a must see! The period brick roundhouse and turntable allow you to step back in time.

A wonder working museum preserving steam locomotives. The tour was about an hour and a half and involved minimal walking. The tour guide was very professional and informative. I highly recommend it and will go again. Take your camera.

October 21, 2020 was my fifth visit in as many years to AoS, and each visit simply gets better. This latest adventure was one of their Blue Flag tours and AoS staff really did a great job creating a hands-on experience in several aspects of locomotive preservation, repair, and operation. Participants viewed or tried their hands at stenciling, turning a work piece in a lathe, needle-scaling, lubing freight car journal boxes, and dead-weight testing of pressure gauges. Rides in the cabs of both diesel and steam locomotives capped the visit. Hats off to Bill (pressure gauge testing), Bill (stenciling), Dan (tour guide), Ashley (tour guide), Denny (diesel loco engineer), and others (whose names I did not get). AoS is a NATIONAL treasure that deserves continued support. A visit there will not disappoint.

Very impressive roundhouse. Definitely one of the best we've seen by far. Good collection of rolling stock. Interesting, scenic drive out in the Amish country to get there. Nice staff and good size of tour group allowing plenty of interaction. Everyone had a mask on so if you fall in those high risk category you should feel safe. The only downside is a lot if activities can't be done due to COVID-19. Will definitely be back again once the craziness is over.
