Tucked away on a side street in Summerville, SC, this little jewel of a restaurant can be found disguised as a small house. Do not be alarmed if you are greeted at the door by a big bundle of love, a service dog named Jack, along with the restaurant owner, Carmen. We began our meal with her own special blend of Mint tea flavored with honey and lemon. One of us had it on ice and One had it hot. It was delicious both ways. Be sure to try Transylvanian sausage made fresh by Carmen. She used beef and lamb with thyme and garlic and lots of love. Absolutely delicious. She told us that this is street food back home, usually served with beer. Alas, she doesn't serve beer because she isn't licensed for it. I could absolutely taste how it could be a perfect pairing though. We actually had five sausages, but I snapped the picture after we each took one. She makes a different special of the day every day which is not on the menu. The day we went, the special of the day was amazing. It was a stew with meat (beef and chicken, I think), peppers, onions and spices served over rice cooked like risotto with a polenta like texture. It was amazing! The spices were perfect. And I forgot to take a picture of our dessert. She called it a brownie, but to me it was closer to a cake or traditional baked pudding. It had no eggs, tasted like chocolate with a touch of coffee, similar in moisture and taste to tiramisu, but better. She said it also has some tart cherries in it. Yum! I will definitely go there again, and I plan to bring friends and family as well.

Really lovely - the caseless sausages with chimney bread was phenomenal. Well seasoned and juicy, with a mustard-like savory sauce for dipping. Recommend coming on an empty stomach, because you won't be hungry when you leave!

This little place is an amazing discovery of what real food tastes like. Prepared with lots of love and care for the goodness of true quality. Carmen is the epitome of a great hostess, friendly, intelligent, and a great chef who is truly passionate and caring about what and how she prepares every meal. Thanks for a very tasty late lunch of Romanian sour meatball soup and chimney bread. Really look forward to our next visit. Mike(Misha) & Rhonda

It takes patience to eat here because the food is ACTUALLY prepared and cooked. The food is authentic and very good it's as close to a kitchen you are going to get eating out. The chef cooks with real ingredients, meat with bone home made jellies and fresh whole herbs like bay leaves! It reminds me of going to your grandmother's and eating a terrific meal. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a sit down meal. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would.

This place is charming and adorable. I hope that I can one day have a place of my own as wonderful and successful as this. I love the atmosphere and the owner is a perfect image of what an entrepreneur should do and makes sure she has everything done the way she needs to get it all done. I especially loved her puppy. I may have to ask if it would be alright to bring him some treats the next time I go see her.

Now this is a unique place you likely will never find another one like In Charleston area! Had no clue what kind of experience we were getting into. Walked in and asked to give me things that are unique that I have never had before...Cabbage soup and this castle garlic pastry thing...yes I know random awesomeness! Do yourself a favor and just go! Owner is super nice! All homemade things made from scratch!

Great owner/cook, Carmen is very nice, accommodating and will give you her best recommendations. Food is made from scratch, homemade nothing out of a box..the chimney cake is wonderful. You can also browse around this renovated house/restaurant at all the antiques and everything is for sale too. Will be there again soon..also she has a wonderful boxer named Jack who will keep you company as you wait. Reminded me of my home...
