The day my husband and I went to make arrangements we spoke to Steven Bladley. He was very nice and accommodating. We plan to have services in the chapel and discussed our wishes with music, pastor, etc. We were to have an urn placed up front surrounded by flowers. The memorial service was to last one hour, sermon, music, sermon, music, etc. When we arrived the day of funeral, no urn, no problem quick fix. Victor took one off the display wall and we used it, since the ashes weren't ready. Next we were told no music! Steven didn't share our song choices with the staff and the music wasn't downloaded to their new system, which staff hadn't been trained on use! So we had a 20 minute service with no music. Disaster! Next issue is we never received a call the ashes were ready to be picked up. I called and was told my Steven that he would check and call me back, no callback. I called again several weeks later and still nothing. I call a third time and was told the ashes are ready, come by and pick them up. My husband arrives and the ashes are in a cardboard box! My husband advised we requested and paid for urn. Oh...sorry, let me get an urn. Oh sorry, we're out of urns. My husband requested they deliver the ashes to our home, they agreed. Two more weeks no call. Finally, I call and they made arrangements to deliver the ashes. Also, the memorial book was typed with the wrong date of birth of the deceased. I learned that they are not affiliated with Sunset of San Antonio. That explains everything! Victor is the only person to take responsibility and apologize for this catastrophe! I hope they can get their act together and this doesn't happen to the next family that places their trust to Sunset Memorial Oaks New Braunfels.

The people that work here are amazing. In a time of despair and grief they are so kind. Mr. Perez and Michelle have been beyond wonderful to myself and my family. I am forever grateful. Thank you

I want to thank the staff at Sunset Funeral Home in New Braunfels TX, and particularly Michelle Ruiz for their dedication in making my husband's funeral (Norman Clermont) more a celebration of life than a funeral. They handled all the details, were extremely supportive, and most importantly helped me to be able to realize my husband's life wish to be buried in Arlington Cemetery, VA. We would have had the ceremony cancelled and rescheduled if it had not been for Michelle who had the most recent DD-214 needed for the headstone. Thank you Sunset and Thank you Michelle.God bless!!!!
