beautiful view of Lake Superior between the shoals. it's very difficult to get out to the actual lighthouse though. the sidewalk path ends, leaving you to jump from rock to rock for a good half mile or more. definitely not accessible by wheelchair, stroller or other mobility aid.

Loved it! It's so cool! The big rocks you have to walk on to get to the lighthouse is very cool!
Very cool with great views. The walk to the Lighthouse is across large boulders and could be very difficult if you struggle with balance so be careful. Gorgeous winding road through woods to get to the Lighthouse.
A beautiful view! It seems very isolated and not heavily visited. Parking was plentiful and free. Each overlook had a bathroom. Don’t miss the Indian burial grounds. It was also free to go here. I wish I had spent more time here.
This is a lighthouse for adventures and homeless people. At land there is really nice parking, a functional bathroom and a decent beach. To get to the lighthouse however, you need to hike across a few hundred feet of large rocks, which is fun to be perfectly honest, but it isn't what I expected. There are remnants of what looks to be walkway anchors and there are blankets in small caves for homeless people, which isn't a big deal to the average visitor. The lighthouse itself looks better from a distance, because when you get up close you see nothing but broken glass and graffiti. However the views are definitely worth it, as you can see the island from the northern end, and you get a pretty good view of Duluth as well lake Superior itself. For a place that is over 100 years old, it's still holding up well enough to be worth seeing.
