Unfortunately, there was some mix up with our reservation, but when we finally did get to go kayaking, we had a great time!. My grown children and I spent a full day (3 1/2 hours ) kayaking the marked trail around and through Weedon Isle. The kayaks were in good shape, the trail and map were clearly marked. We had perfect weather for the trip! Be sure to check the tides as some parts of the trail are very shallow and you might have to walk the kayaks through those parts if the tide is low. The kids and I agreed that It was a good workout and a lot of fun!

Weddon Island Reserve is a very nice area and I am sure you can have a great time out there. We went today for the first time and decided to rent Kayaks from Sweetwater Kayaks. The price was 56 for a two seater for the afternoon which was recommended to us. You can rent by the hour but they told us it was better to go through the marked trail which would take 3-4 hours thus you should do the 1/2 day rental for 56. They told us to stay to the right around the 4th marker because it may be shallow which was the biggest understatement of the day. We were able to paddle to the 3rd marker and then we ended up pulling the kayak to marker 36 because the tide was so low! Do NOT rent a kayak at low tide! Sweetwater Kayaks told us the tide was low when we started but they didn't tell us that we'd be dragging the kayak the entire afternoon. It would have been nice if they would have told us to just do a couple of hours in the open water where it was deep instead of going through a trail at low tide. It was the worst Kayaking experience I've ever had but with a little knowledge it could have been avoided.
