I just moved in here and I love the view. The staff are so nice and friendly. As many moves as I have had over the years I can honestly say I was so excited about this move. Each apartment has central heat and air so no matter how your body temperature you can stay comfortable. It’s also so quiet when I was hanging my pictures I felt guilty for using my hammer.

I went in to possibly apply, the vibe in the beginning was off and I wasn’t even welcomed from anybody. Once I approach the front desk I ask for an application I was then ask “did anyone tell you to come in a fill out an application?” I then say I was unaware you had to call before you came an apply consider you have ads online to come in apply. She then hands me the application I fill it out. Moments later I return the application I see her shuffling through it, I then ask if she was part of the hiring team she said no. I was so confused as to why she was looking at my application if she wasn’t apart of the team. I then ask what was the minority ratio to staff she then stated she didn’t know. Hours later I called the DNS Megan to tell her how my situation was and it was like she didn’t cared because the women that I was notifying her about has been with Merrill gardens for so long.

I have a close family friend who is like an Aunt that lives here. This facility is located in a nice area of Tacoma. You can see the water and the Narrows Bridge from the building. It feels like a higher end hotel. There is flavored water in the lobby and the front desk woman was very helpful. I have been during the Friday “Happy Hour” a few times now and the activity girls made me feel welcome and shared future events with me. They went above and beyond. The food is amazing and the waitress accommodated my requests.

Immaculate building inside and out. The grounds are beautiful and the people who live here enjoy all of the outdoor space. (At least they have when I have been there) like watering the garden or sitting in the park. A lot of people here have dogs and it makes it feel like home. I wish I could live here! I have eaten here several times and the food is better than most restaurants I have been to (and I’m a foodie!). Helpful staff and lots of fun things for them to do. The person I know who lives here has become MORE active than when she lived on her own and it has helped her be more social and active.
