St Leo Church at the center of Tacoma has long been a helper to the less fortunate and those experiencing difficulties in life. A dear friend and her family having experienced a dramatic loss of home and suffering from health problems had the prayer answered by the Catholic Church of Tacoma who provided them safe Haven as well as a starting place for the family in the process of healing. Paid a visit and enjoyed a nice dinner after visiting the food bank to provided not only us and those who came to dinner a great source of nourishment, but an interesting look at the world and how nonprofits really do assist in more ways than one families and people who have come to crossroads in life.

Meals on time but this shelter is like working for federal government...basically it's about who you know as far as how you are treated by staff so this can cause animosity among a population that is already in crisis survival mode. I've appreciated knowing that I won't starve and as a homeless woman I've depended on the one portable bathroom that they have kept in the parking lot so thank you to them. I have learned so much by all that surround this center in the last 5 years having me feel like there were things I failed to notice of others growing up and as a professional health care provider. Remembering that I can never go wrong being kind has helped me tremendously
