They shut the power off to a vacant home I was remodeling without any advanced notice, written or verbal during a cold weather streak in the dead of winter. I showed up to work and the power had been off for four days without me knowing it. Pipes could have burst, I could have had a break in. Called the lead inspector and he just said it’s within their rights to do it, no explanation or apology. Once I got a licensed electrician out and an approval on the inspection, they said since the house is unoccupied, it’s lowest on their priorities and it could be another 5 days until the power is on. Now it’s forecast to be a blizzard and I’m scrambling to source heat as snow is falling. What they did should be illegal.

Electricity Are charge too much and they charge Delivery which is city light and puget sound Energy doesn’t charge the delivery service which Tacoma utility calls it ‘distribution charge’ . Attached is a photo copy of how high they charge.
I spoke with Chelsea B a lead customer service representative. She understood my frustration as well being kind and understanding. I appreciated her tone and consideration throughout our conversation. She was extremely thorough in explanation. She is overall excellent, she is very much appreciated! It takes an extreme amount of patience to handle a frustrated customer. Chelsea is excellent at her job and communicating. Thank you!

Last night around midnight, a windstorm came through and knocked the power out. By 7AM the power was back on. Having been a long time customer of another major electric company that serves King County, I was prepared to freeze, throw all my food in the fridge out and wait a million years for them to get it back on. Luckily that wasn’t the case. I’m happily drinking my coffee and I’m nice and warm. You all are amazing!
