North Lake Tahoe Historical Society Reviews | Rating 4.5 out of 5 stars (4 reviews)

North Lake Tahoe Historical Society is located in Tahoe City, United States on 130 W Lake Blvd. North Lake Tahoe Historical Society is rated 4.5 out of 5 in the category historical society in United States. The natural and cultural histories of Lake Tahoe inform who we are and define our sense of place and our heritage. The mission of the NLTHS is to hold these histories in trust by collecting, preserving, and presenting them for all people, keeping them safe, and accessible now and for future generations. We do this in a manner that is engaging, educational and culturally sensitive through innovative programming and exhibits at the Gatekeeper's and Watson Cabin Museums of the NLTHS. The Gatekeeper's Museum and Watson Cabin place emphasis on the cultural and geographical histories that influenced the development of North Lake Tahoe. The Marion Steinbach Indian Basket Museum places emphasis on the historical and contemporary basketry traditions of western North America, and seeks to promote cultural awareness through programming in collaboration and consultation with native American weavers and scholars.

Great add to the State Park next door, and River trail across road by bridge. Easily can make a day of it. Bring picnic(tables St.Pk area). Walking & nature trails w/ historic info. & views next door. Here Native American art & baskets very interesting! Very peaceful.
