After seeing the signs for this over and over, I said to my husband how I wanted to take him to somewhere we haven't been to yet. I'm so glad he's the type who's up for new adventures. He had the curry chicken with the crack and cheese with a side of cabbage. Everything was unbelievably delicious and the portions were huge! We look forward to going back and trying some more yummy delights on the menu

After a pretty bad first experience at this place, I was encouraged to give it a second chance. So glad I did. The experience today was a night-and-day difference. I was able to order online and, upon arriving at the location, my food was ready. The first time I went, they were out of the menu item I wanted. This time, I didn't order it and it was the featured dish! Ugh... my luck! I mentioned it to the manager and he was nice enough to give me a sample. I got into the food as soon as I got back to work while it was still warm. Absolutely delicious - I can recommend the curry chicken and the smothered turkey wings. I still don't know about the sweet potatoes, but that's just a personal choice - I'm not a fan of marshmallow. I also stand by that I didn't like the fried turkey wings - they were cooked too hard and the roof of my mouth hurt for 2 days from trying to bite into it, and the greens weren't prepared in a way that I personally like. I did finally got to try the crack mac and it lives up to the name. I would definitely get that again. I haven't gotten a chance to get any of the seafood yet, and I am very curious about fried lobster, which is probably the only way I've never had lobster prepared. There will definitely be a next time, so that's next on the list. I've heard that places don't have a good track record in that location, but I don't find many good soul food places, so I hope this one will be the exception to the rule. If you're looking for some good soul food at reasonable prices with good portion sizes, try this place. To David and Jasmine, the owners, keep up the good work. I appreciate your commitment to customer service.

This is a hidden gem! My boyfriend and I stumbled on this place tucked a little off the road in a plaza on Causeway Blvd. We were reeled in by the "Latin Food" "Soul food" stickers on the window... And we got the best of both worlds! We ordered uno pepito de carne, which was big enough to share if we just wanted a light lunch. It was super fresh, full of flavor and even the fries were delightfully crisp. Next came our empanadas de pabellon. This was the most absolutely creative and satisfying part of the meal for me. We split one in half and one to take home for later, it was very generously sized and a mouthwater mixture of beef, cheese , beans, and a sweet plantain inside. Oh my god, to die for! And then we had a peppersteak dinner (almost to go.) Couldn't resist diving in on a few bites of this amazing dish. Eveything was cooked to perfection... Beef, veggies, collards, and crack mac! You have to check this place out. We were lucky enough to meet the owners, very kind and friendly.
