This place is a real hidden gem. The food was amazing. They had so many exquisite dishes such as fried gizzard, chicken skin, or chicken clavicle. Please take the chance to try those dishes, they sell out fast and are worth it. The service was top notch. They paid attention the pace we were eating at and never felt rush but just right.

This place has amazing Japanese food - even though the menu is overwhelmingly big (5-6 menus) the food is absolutely delicious and the service is great. They bring your tapas out quick one after another. Food is fresh and HOT! It’s amazing . The atmosphere and the service are great. Also, Yakitori has the BEST chicken wings I have ever tasted in my entire life. And I do eat chicken wings in a lot of different places. You can’t copy the recipe - wings are cooked to perfection nothing less. Just like the sashimi—no kidding the sashimi at this place melts in your mouth!!! I never experienced that before. I Absolutely loved the experience of sashimi here. The restaurant is small, but surprisingly for a typical Japanese restaurant, tables are big enough - it offers a lot of space than other Japanese restaurants I have experienced in the past. The kitchen is out in the open. It’s very clean and you can see the chef and the assistant working together making meals and most importantly washing their hands each and every time . It’s authentic Japanese food. You will see both Japanese servers and clients here...so that tells you it’s going to be a great experience. The food speaks for itself. I truly enjoyed my visit here and will definitely come back again to try other items on their long menu! I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s a hidden !

Small place but a gem. Great food and drinks. I recommend the mushroom with bacon and chicken thighs.

I have been to Yakitori39 many times over the past year or two and each time has been amazing. I am hard pressed to recall a better Yakitori restaurant other than in NYC, but Yakitori39's affordability and deliciousness should easily put them on the map for anyone looking for authentic Japanese cuisine in the greater New York region. While their menu is quite extensive (e.g. ramen, hot pots, etc), they are of course known for their skewered meats, which there are quite a few. Every order I have made for chicken, pork, beef, veggies, seafood cuts and even some hard to find items like tendons, hearts, etc were both grilled and flavored amazingly. This is the kind of place you should not hesitate to visit as you can't go wrong with ordering multiple skewers for a group of friends and cold beers. My only surprise is the lack of customers every time I visit, but hopefully that is only due to the mix of COVID-19 and winter. Lastly, there isn't really any parking aside from side street parking as it is located near an intersection.
