Kelly and the amazing staff at lucid speech and language clinic quite literally cured my son of his Childhood Apraxia of Speech. He was diagnosed December of 2017 and was considered cured March 2019. He attended speech 2x a week every week in that timeframe. If it wasn't for Kelly and Michael and all the amazing speech therapists that subbed for her during maternity leave, he would still probably just have 8 words. But thanks to them and the homework and practices we can't literally get him to stop talking! He is 3 years old and has better speech than most of the children in his class. I am so so thrilled with their work and so happy my son and I can communicate effectively to each other. He had an official graduation with a little gift basket and song. You can see how they truly care about their kids. I appreciate the fact that every appointment was always on time, the waiting area is very clean and the receptionist is super friendly. I just figured it was time to leave my review because we are quite thoroughly enjoying the benefits of speech therapy and I hope i can influence at least one person to come here and see what they can do for your child too.

Easy to work with and straight forward with insurance, we have Kaiser and after getting an initial consult with our 2.5 year old sons pediatrician, they sent us to lucid for a consult, everything was covered except for our copay, my son goes 1x a week and is allowed to go 2x, which we may figure out how to rearrange to make happen. Each session is 30 minutes long, 25 minutes of therapy and 5 minutes at the end for review. They usually have some type of homework at the end, to work on, usually flash cards.

We booked a speech evaluation for our child and it was with a therapist who had good reviews online. Insurance was checked prior to the appt. Upon arrival it was actually a different therapist who seemed a little nervous and persisted on testing (the IQ section, which has nothing to do with why we were there) long after our toddler had had enough. She would say, \Okay one more and then you get to play with this toy\ so he would as she asked and then she would continue to ask more questions without letting him play with the toy after the first time she said it. He quickly caught on that she was lying and didn't want to do it anymore. Any time he would touch his hair or his face as toddlers do, she would squirt hand sanitizer on his hands. I was told after the evaluation that they would contact my insurance again and submit a \pretend claim\ to verify if his diagnosis is covered by them or to what extent. However, I never received any follow up. When I called them they were rude and said they don't know what they'll charge until afterwards. Which is Bologna. When I pressed further they said I would need to contact the insurance and gave me codes to give to the insurance. When I spoke to the insurance, they said the numbers weren't appropriate codes. Maybe this office works mainly with cash paying patients, I'm not sure but they certainly aren't familiar with insurance companies. 4 months later after paying for my share of the evaluation, I received a bill saying I now owe more money. Apparently, they never confirmed pricing with my insurance like they said they had. We definitely don't recommend this place, our child's well being wasn't their first priority and you will be doing their work for them when it comes to insurance. And as bonus, might also receive a surprise bill long after you left!
