Very helpful, friendly and professional staff. I found, they work exceptionally well with very young students just learning the game; as well as, with more seasoned and experienced players. All persons (male or female) and all skill levels can enjoy themselves here. I particularly recommend their weekly Tuesday night chess tournaments..!!

Our daughter has been at the Chess Emporium for a few months and is loving it. She attends the classes and plays in every Friday night tournament she has time for. The service has been impeccable. She learns something new every time, and enjoys learning from the coaches and playing with the other students. I usually stay at the Center for hours, while she is in class and plays in the tournaments. It is refreshing to see employees working so hard. Their work ethic is astonishing. They are either coaching, interacting with students, cleaning and refreshing the restroom, restocking complimentary water bottles (and tea and coffee), doing paperwork, entering accounting in the system to keep track of attendance, payments, etc. And, they all work together to help the business run smoothly and properly. They interact wonderfully with the students as they appear to genuinely love the game of chess and working with children. Most impressive was what I observed when a student said she felt ill during a tournament while her parents were away on a "parent night out." The employees were so attentive, efficient, responsible and nurturing in the way they handled the situation. She could not have been in better hands. The only issue we encountered with Chess Emporium, thus far, was swiftly resolved. The Chess Emporium has been a wonderful experience.

This could be a good place to learn chess after school (OR) an extra curricular activity. I have not tried that and can't comment on that. I did not have a good experience for their camp though!! They don't have variety of activities for the whole day even though their schedule looks like there is break. Most kids end up sitting with chess board. Not enough space to play anything else other than chess. Your child is kind of implied to sit through for the whole day and that is not the right setup for most boys, unless they have passion towards chess. If you child has high energy and getting introduced to chess - their camps are not the ones to put your child in.
