I’ve lived at the Harlowe for about a couple of months now. This is an amazing place to live with great amenities, a supportive staff & maintenance crew and ideal location. I feel compelled to write this review because a lot of folks who are happy with their apartments rarely post positive reviews which skews reviews unfavorably for a lot of apartments. Before deciding on The Harlowe, I looked at many apartments (most of them with poor reviews in the Arlington area) and I was surprised to find that most of the places that folks reviewed negatively were perfectly fine places to live. These apartments are conveniently located right off of 395 and very close to Alexandria which is where I do most of my shopping. The area and building are pet friendly. There is surface parking which is free and garage parking which you have to pay for monthly (I’ve had no trouble finding surface parking spots so far). The maintenance system is online and the crew is prompt with addressing all requests. Packages are now delivered via Amazon Locker which is really safe and convenient. I haven’t experienced any pest issues in my unit or in the building. The only issue that is a bit annoying to deal with is that the apartment is on a boiler system so a few nights this month have been very warm because we can’t use AC however I think this problem is prevalent in many apartments in this area. Overall, this is a great place to live! Please do your research and ask lots of questions, I found staff members like Ashley and Tanya to be very helpful.

OK, So I had written a horrible review of this place, and even though I was thinking of leaving it and creating a new one, I decided to completely remove the one I had written and replace it with a review of the latest changes and improvements. First off, Admin did take all my complaints seriously and worked diligently and with promptness to resolve them. They have also become more responsive to feedback and communication has improved. AC works non stop now, new windows are amazing - ever since they changed them it has become very quiet; I work from home, so that is always a plus. People are nice, elevators work all the time, and there is always a very nice gentleman that takes care of maintenance issues with great sense of urgency. His name is Mario and I have not had a problem that he has not been able to fix. Parking is a little tedious at certain times, but they have a very convenient parking garage for a good fee which mitigates this problem. Its a great deal - It is a very good location for a reasonable price! Good staff and property management is always open to feedback and comments. No complaints on safety. The area is very safe (from my experience).

I rarely write complaints, but this is a place where people live and it has truly been a horrible experience since we moved here! Management is completely horrible! They don’t listen to complaints and people are smoking on my floor, which they say, “If you specifically know who it is, we can do something about it, otherwise we can’t!” That is not MY responsibility to know who is smoking. It is the apartments responsibility to enforce the no smoking policy, not the tenants! They sent out a letter that did absolutely nothing and that is their only course of action, by the way. We moved here thinking it was a non-smoking building and it is NOT! When you ask to speak to the manager, which is Tanya they tell you she is away or you can email her, but she is rarely there and speaks to you in a condescending tone and doesn’t essentially care. In addition, mid-lease they introduced a new parking policy. In which, they took away an entire parking lot and then began charging people to park there! Completely rediciulous and unethical. If you want to pay a lot and get nothing in return, then this is the place for you!

Although I will be moving out soon, I would absolutely recommend the Harlowe Apartments to anyone wanting to live in the DC Metro Area. The building is conveniently located on 395 which quickly takes you into DC, Alexandria, and Crystal City. The ART bus comes as close to the front door as possible, and the amenities are amazing. The staff here works diligently and I have found that if you have questions and concerns talking to Tanya is the best way to get answers because she is always happy to help and is quick to find a solution. In my time living here at the Harlowe I have not had any issues with pests. In fact, the building is very clean and very well taken care of. The support staff works daily to maintain a clean building for the residents. I am sad that I am moving out and would have liked to stay here longer. If you are interested in the Harlowe I highly encourage you to make time to stop by and ask questions - see for yourself how hard the staff works to make sure you have all the answers you need.

I love the Harlowe. Casey and Brooke are quick to respond to any and all questions promptly. They both go above and beyond. The apartment has pleasant renters and I've made many friends. There are many perks to living here and Im thrilled to be a part of the Harlowe community. I'd gladly recommend potential renters, friends and family to join this positive experience.

We recently moved out because of work/school, but we would've easily chosen to stay here longer if we could've! The staff is very friendly and responsive. Our unit was clean and just as we expected. The only thing I would change is getting a 24/hr concierge service back up, but other than that this place is great! Highly recommended!

Stayed here for one year. Overall, I was happy with it. Pros: Secure building, gym is decent, floors are very quiet. Kitchen was modern. There is a common room in the basement for parties which is huge and very well appointed. Staff was very friendly. People who lived there were very friendly too. Cons: No bicycle racks outside (they threatened to cut the locks if you lock your bike on a streetlight or tree or something). If you lock yourself out of your room after hours, you are out of luck, because the only employee at the building is a security guard who isn't authorized to get keys from the office. This placed used to be called "Country Club Towers" until 2015, so you can also look up reviews under that name.

I️ have lived in The Harlowe since March 2016. I️ referred and recommended The Harlowe to friends and colleagues in the past because it is a good value place to live and the people who live in the building are nice and welcoming. So why do I️ rate the Harlowe with one star? Because of their price policy. They offered a cheaper price rate online (for one bedroom apartment 1,540) for those who don’t live in the building than what they offer to the people who already lived in it (same apartment 1,725). How can this be possible? How can be possible that the same apartment have 2 different prices? Is this going to happen to me too in 4 months? Did that happen to anybody else in the building before? Is this even legal? I️ hope The Harlowe management react to this review and reconsider this policy. I️ understand that market prices change every day but in my opinion it is not acceptable that people from the community receive a higher price than externals. This is a real example, I️ have documents that prove it. I️ am more than willing to take this review out if anybody from the Harlowe management team contact the person affected (our friend and neighbor) and solve the issue with her. I️ talked with other neighbors and we will go all together to the leasing office to discuss and support our friend and neighbor after the holidays. We are afraid that the same thing happens to us upon our leasing ends. Luis
