I was in town for a quick trip for the St Charles Jazz Weekend and this was such a great way to get to experiencethis charming city. The small businesses are able to participate hosting a variety of musical performers, which is really unique compared to other cities where a venue hosts these kind of events. By having the businesses hosts the musical talent it encourages the community and visitors to explore different areas of downtown St. Charles and really get to know the local business owners. Scott, the owner of The Jank Guitar Store, is an amazing ambassador for St. Charles. He's very involved in his community and the enrichment of this city and enjoys sharing the history of this historic town. Scott is one of those people you meet for the first time and feel like you're old friends. The Jank Guitar Store is not your typical retail store. It's a business setup to musically engage the community from children to adults who need a creative outlet and passion to learn the guitar. I highly recommend looking up this place and experiencing St Charles. Support small businesses!

t has been nearly a year since I began guitar lessons with Scott at The Jank Guitar Store. My goal was to become good enough to join the Praise Band at our church, & Scott has been an eager partner in this pursuit. Scott teaches with enthusiasm in even the simplest instruction to a beginner like me. He has a passion for music that is contagious & it makes learning fun. During lessons, he provides a light-hearted, relaxed mood & plenty of encouragement. Our lessons & follow-up are well-planned & questions are welcome anytime, with a timely response. I particularly appreciate the review sheets he provides after every lesson as they make great reference material. Lessons at The Jank Guitar Store continue to give me the basic tools & techniques I need to build confidence in playing the guitar & I am happy to say I am now a member of the Band thanks to Scott's instruction & sincere interest in helping me reach my goal.
My 13 year old son has been taking guitar lessons with Scott for just over 1-year. What a great instructor. Colin has become more confident in his abilities and really enjoys experimenting with his guitar and practicing new techniques. I think this is what playing and creating music is all about. I appreciate Scott's encouragement while my son finds the style that works for him. He's enjoying the adventure.
I have been bringing my 9 year daughter for lessons for almost a year now and she truly enjoys and looks forward to every lesson. Scott takes such care to get to know his students and personalize each lesson. His approach to teaching an absolute beginner was easy to grasp and fun. He has a contagious passion for music and is just wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend Scott and The Jank. The scheduling system took a bit of getting used to, but the team is very accommodating to work with your schedule.
I have been taking lessons with Scott at The Jank for over a year now and love it. The progress I have made since day 1 has been incredible. I would say the greatest thing about taking lessons with Scott is his patience and enthusiasm when teaching me something new. I always look forward to the next skill in the lesson plan. I have really enjoyed my experience at The Jank Guitar Store! Scott offers lessons, and his times are flexible and work well for me. He personalizes each lesson, and he really makes you feel like you are his only student and not just "one of many." I admit the making an appointment before even seeing the store was a little unconventional, but if you're willing to do the work to make the appointment before the first exposure, you won't be disappointed.
