The REAL Green New Deal Project is located in Portland, United States. The REAL Green New Deal Project is rated 3 out of 5 in the category think tanks in United States. The REAL Green New Deal Project is setting forth a realistic alternative to the commonly accepted narrative about renewable energy and sustainability. That narrative - for which the Green New Deal has become emblematic - leads us to believe that the renewable energy future will look just like the fossil fueled present, but simply electrified and "decarbonized." We're pushing back against this dangerous myth. How We're Different: We recognize that our climate crisis is only one symptom of our underlying overshoot crisis. We call for a complete abolition of fossil fuels, not "net zero." We recognize that it's crucial to understand which renewable energy technologies are even viable before embarking on the energy transition. We recognize the inescapable reality of total societal scale-back and transformation. What We Do: We're developing an Action Plan for the transition based on a biophysical analysis of which renewable energy technologies are viable. In the meantime, we're trying to spread the message of the REAL Green New Deal far and wide.
