The ROC is great! Classes are in-person and online. I have taught multiple classes in all age brackets and levels at The ROC for several years. The ROC has created a learning community where classes are very small, or shared tutoring, and everyone is working towards excellence. Teachers are experienced parents, students, and tutors from the homeschooling community, local universities, and professional educators. The inclination is towards expertise. The director, Melle Randall, bases the schedule and some offerings on the individuals in the group for that term and year: strong academics, physical activities, field trips, and AWARD WINNING ROBOTICS TEAMS are all included in the membership-plus-classes model. For those motivated work on cool things within a tender, interest-driven atmosphere, The ROC can be a great fit. My classes are yoga for kids and families, health science for teens, art workshops all ages, language arts with Latin & Greek roots 7-14, knitting all ages. At The ROC each class is adjusted for current individual students. Other teachers this year cover archery, sewing, cooking, physics, logic, literature, astronomy, music, dance, p.e., etc. Full disclosure, I am Totally Biased. Two of my three children studied here, and I still teach. If you need custom designed educational options, get in touch with The ROC!

The ROC is an awesome learning center. It is one of the few places around that offers a large range of programming that includes 21st C skills-based offerings. From their award-winning robotics team to their archery and STEM classes, we were able to choose from a unique line-up of educational opportunities that aren’t available anywhere else.

Our family started homeschooling last year, and I don't know what I would have done without the ROC. My 7 year old and 9 year old went to the center's new facility at the Houston Street Center twice a week. While they were there, I got a much needed break for myself, and then I had the pleasure of picking them up from the Roc's qualified team of instructors. They were tutored in subjects they WANTED to study by teachers who made learning fun and empowering. The subjects were varied and taught at my kids' ability level, instead of by any so-called grade level. They always felt uplifted and accomplished at the end of the day!

The ROC is an outstanding center for homeschooling families, offering a wide variety of classes and clubs, and a community space where kids can socialize and just do their thing. It fosters independence, resourcefulness, and learning, in an organic, unforced way. Our family began homeschooling in 4th grade, and our only regret is that it took three years for us to find the ROC!
