This hike is a great hike, prefect for kids 7 and up. The terrain is a bit uneven, so strollers are not recommended. But it's simple enough at least to the bridge and worth the 1.5 miles. There are many cool things to see along the home to the bridge including a few trunks you can go in. It took us 45 minutes to get to the bridge.

(This review is not for the car-camping at the parking lot, but the trail hiking camping). This is one of my favorite places for a casual backpack trip (hike camp). This place is virtually empty no matter what time of year, and has spots better than anywhere along I-90. The rushing river is fun to relax by, and plenty of wildlife to see along the way. This place is pretty high-risk for bears, so you need to exercise reasonable caution. Dogs are allowed along this hike since it's in the ecreation area\, but not in any of the neighboring areas (national park rules).

Beautiful scenery. Trail is well maintained and begins flat and easy, before elevating hikers into beautiful vistas well worth some difficulty. Many good picknick stops along the way.

Thunder Creek trail is a nice and easy 1.5 miles to the bridge, and connects shortly thereafter with other great hikes in the park. Ample parking, flush toilets near trailhead. A great hike for families!

Old growth forest hike along brilliantly blue (glacial runoff) river. Beautiful and quiet. Not many people while I was on it. Worth hiking even just a little to experience the quiet. Path is relatively smooth with little elevation change with rocky patches.
