Already many bad review here but here is mine. Would not rent equipment or tools from Home Depot, I found out basically they sub contract the bigger equipment so basically they rent from the company and make a profit off of you plus all the fees not to mention 200 cleaning fee when you can simply rent directly from the company they rent for not only for cheaper but without the ridiculous fees and had to call a manager to get some kind of discount, here I have attached what was a mini excavator for 800 one day I can rent the same machine from sunbelt or rental one for 400 or less a day no fees. I use Home Depot all the time but would never recommend tool renting because the only way they can profit off of these machines is to have hidden charges and “read your contract” fees.

Got plenty of help and got the job done easily. Always fun at the tool isle too
The employer there had very little knowledge about the tools
Poor customer service in rental department. I called to verify the truck rental was available and told no they were all out. I pulled into parking lot and here it sat. Walked in and how weird I rented it. Thanks for outstanding information Rodney at tool rental
Worst customer service possible at the Tool Rental Sx center. NOBODY picks up the phone; they keep you on a phone loop. Had to call 5 times to even get to one person, and for each call I had to waste 10-15 minutes. I was in another city and had to get a tool rented for someone for an emergency.
As far as Home Depot all together I enjoy doing business with them almost on a daily basis period but having said that I had to use the tool rental and repair center for the first time this last week. I turned in a framing nailer for repair. They stated that they needed 20 upfront fee and the average pricing would be 60 to 70 for repair. The gasket kit in the trigger was leaking and online there about 11 bucks. I received a phone call the next day and they stated that it would be about a hundred and fifteen more dollars to replace the gasket kit. I told him no because a new gun was only a hundred and eighty and I thought 115 was too much to repair a used gun. When I asked about my 20 he stated it was for the diagnostic fee. So I asked him if he had taken the gun apart to determine what it needed and he said and I quote,\ no I have not I just know what it will need\. So I just want to let everyone know in case you are having a tool repair that your deposit may just be for naught because they will just decide without even looking at your tool what is wrong with it. And I'm quite sure I already did that so I just got ripped off of 20 basically. I will not be using their tool center any longer for anything even though that was my first visit. I am a commercial and residential contractor and do business with Home Depot on a daily basis in some form or fashion and this is a very big disappointment in the big picture of basic business practice. Very disappointing. After all that I will be picking up my gun and taking it to Tool Traders because they said they could probably do it for 30.
