No accommodations for food. Very basic! But I really did appreciate the free parking, and the beautiful little garden there. My car was safe, and in one piece 2 days later when I got back. I'll leave from Raton, NM again. Making it my regular transportation. Thanks Raton parking area, and police department. Bless You!

I wanted to share my experience so that someone else does not have the same thing happen. 1st. the pictures on this place are definitely not accurate. 2ndly parking lot is not lighted well at all. 3. no attendant to help. I had a ticket to leave 10-3-19 @ 1230am as well as 3 other folks who had never boarded here. We were using the app to see the arrival time. Which bounced any where from 30 min to 15 min delayed. No big deal. We were all inside the train station wondering were to board at because there was no direction. Until we watched our train pull up, no one to tell us how to board and then we watched it leave in a matter of 2 min. As we are running out the door frantic one of the folks says, \you have got to be kidding me!\ he points to a sign on a 12 foot high construction fence which is facing the building that states \boarding with an arrow\. As we run outside we see all the folks coming off the train from the far north end of the depot. Now this I more on BNSF for not maintaining there property. However Amtrak should also have better knowledge of each location to help new comers like us 4. I was able to cancel my reservations for that train and the one I had booked for the following Monday and receive most of my money back. So if you are going to board here it is out side to the far north.. Now I will try again but from Newton Ks Depot.

Clean quite seating was comfortable. Had vending for soda or water. station agent was very helpful. Just wish they had a secure parking lot. I went thru in Sept of 2017 sorry to see agent is gone. Big help to passengers. Amtrak lost out pulling him out of Topeka station. Unfortunately they no longer have a station agent here, so you cannot check bags. This is as of September 2019.

Such a shame that we are losing our ticket agent at the Topeka station. anyone that has ever dealt with Jim Woods knows what a treasure he is. Amtrak has made a poor decision. Many folks who ride the train do not have the means or know how to purchase tickets online. I sure wish Amtrak would consider all their customers.
