Many wonderful clearly marked trails to explore. Perfect for families with young children. After a few inches of snow, snowshoes were not a necessity, but made our adventure easier. A cave, beaver dam, stone bridge and so many friendly winter songbirds were highlights. Can't wait to explore more! And the staff we super friendly and helpful too!

We have been exploring alot of the MA Audubon sanctuaries and this is now our top pick. The rock climbing and a cave that you walk through were a kids dream come true. The boardwalks were great to see ducks and geese. One even had a beaver damn which was cool. We finished at the nature play area. It was a great way to spend 3 hours. If you can remember to bring bird seed.

This Mass Audubon Sanctuary is a gem. It has mainly gentle paths and more of a walking experience rather than a hiking experience. a short walk from the parking the Rockery is a unique man made cave and mound of rocks with exits out to the ponds or over the top or out to the woods. Definitely a place for kids and those young of heart. The walk out along the mill pond an back had no other people and the woods were spectacular. The South Esker trail was also very pretty and fun. We will be back. The fall colors as you can see in the pictures are quite wonderful as well. Some of the trails are also open in the winter for Cross Country skiing.

Went for a walk around the audobon this Halloween morning. This is one of my favorite local spots to get out in the woods with nature. It is also is one of the best maintained Audobon wildlife Sanctuaries that I have been to and I have been to over 25 so far. Right after a fresh snowfall is one of my favorite times to get up there and see everything covered. The trails look so different when all the trees and bushes are covered in fresh white powder. Alot of trees still had leaves on them and with the added snow, it made them all hang over or droop onto the trail making it feel like you are walking through tree tunnels. Once the first snow falls the birds there seem to flock to you more hoping you have birdseed for them. I took some pictures of the trails and also got some pretty cool shots of some up close birds feeding out of my hand. I was able to get the black-capped chickadee, tufted titmouse, and white-breasted nuthatch, the most common birds to feed out of my hand. There was a cardinal and a red-breasted woodpecker that kept coming over to me as if the wanted to land in my hand but the other birds kept scaring them away. I even got a few mallard ducks to feed out of my hand while I was there.
