Mauricio is fantastic. Over the years we have had him repair furniture and cabinets and build new furniture for us. He does beautiful work. It is a pleasure dealing with him.
My 60 year old mid-century walnut coffee table was dropped by the movers, crushing a corner on a curved side. I really thought there was no repair that would restore the edge smoothly. A friend recommended that I bring it in to Mauricio at South Bay Refinishing. They said he worked magic on a chair of theirs and now I believe them. Not only was the repair done perfectly, the cost was far less than I imagined it would be, the color match was exact, and he finished the job in a very timely fashion. Couldn't be happier. If you need any furniture repair or refinishing, don't hesitate to go to South Bay furniture stripping.
I was quite surprised to see my antique table end up looking like fake wood. I'm not sure why or how but it practically looks like plastic after they refinished it. Not very satisfied. And it took a week or so longer than they said it would.
Mauricio has been in this business his whole life and has a day or two turnaround on most projects. One thing he can do that others mess up is replacing worn out wicker on chairs or benches. Try him out he's hard to find because his door is on the parking lot side next to Boss Sports Nutrition.
