I get that the MT lifestyle is different. A little more laid back. The communication from John was difficult if not a little absurd. Super nice guy in person though. The gal ( I think his Wife ) who answered when I booked was super nice. We are “ dudes “ with pretty limited experience with horses to give some background. The quality of pack horse we recieved was less than desirable. The first horse was an absolute dream. Mellow, easy to handle, easy going, packed great. I knew we were in for it when John dropped the horses off and when he went to pack saddle the second one “ 259 “ ( was his number ) he spooked. After a little workin John got him saddled and we were off. Looking at it now we should have refused that horse but we had no other option without burning time or leaving half our load. Horse 259 proceeded to spook the first time a pannier brushed up against a pine tree and darn near knock me into the creek bed. He was scared of and almost or did rodeo to; branches, a log in the trail, mud puddles in a field, stepping on his own lead, his blanket, elk meat ( yes we showed it to him with treats ), hobbles. Pretty much a comete pain in the rear. So buyer beware. Nice people, questionable stock. 1,600 I would never spend again. Also be aware of the afterward cc service charge.
